Afghanistan
cricket team has made a history by beating Bangladesh in all three matches of
the T20 series. Handing Bangladesh a one-run defeat in the third and final T20
match at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium
in Dehradun, India, Afghanistan has sealed the T20 series 3-0.
Bangladesh
finished their innings with just one run short of Afghanistan’s innings.
Batting first, Afghanistan scored 145 losing 6 wickets. Samiullah Shenwari
scored 33 runs off 28 balls and remained unbeaten.
For
Bangladesh, Nazmul Islam and Abu Jayed took two wickets each while Shakib Al
Hasan, Test and T20 captain, and occasional pacer Ariful Haque, both took a
wicket apiece. Taking the wicket of Najibullah Zadran, Shakib became the
fastest cricketer to reach the double of 500 wickets and 10,000 runs in
international cricket.
In
reply, Bangladesh scored 144 runs losing 6 wickets. Mushfiqur Rahim and
Mahmudullah scored 46 and 45 runs respectively.
They shared an 84-run partnership in the sixth-wicket stand.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Karim Janat and Rashid Khan got a wicket each. Three Bangladeshi batsmen became the victims of run out.

Afghanistan spin sensation, Rashid Khan, was given the “Man
of the series” award while Bangladesh wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim was awarded
“Man of the Match”.
