Your birth means the birth of this country (তুমি জন্মেছিলে বলে জন্মেছিল এই দেশ)
Hence Mujib your other name is Independent Bangladesh. (মুজিব তোমার আরেক নাম স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশ)
The above-stated two-line verse perfectly goes with the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This great leader is regarded with respect as the architect of independent Bangladesh, the spirited leader of the Bangalee nation and also the greatest Bangalee of all times.
March 17 is a very significant day in the history of Bangladesh because it is the birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On this day in 1920, he was born in a respected Muslim family at Tungipara village in Gopalganj District. Every year people from all walks of life celebrate this day in a grandiloquent manner. People of all ages and classes pay him respect by placing wreaths and flower sticks at his tomb. This day is also observed as the National Children’s Day because Bangabandhu on his birthday liked to spend time with children. The present government announced the year 2020-21 as Mujib Borsho (Mujib Year) to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman passed away long days ago, but his activities have made
him immortal. People still remember him with respect. I am going to end this article
with another famous verse written by Annada Shankar Roy-
As
long as the Padma, Meghna, Gouri, Jamuna flows on (যতকাল রবে পদ্মা, যমুনা, গৌরী, মেঘনা বহমান)
Your
accomplishment will also live on, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. (ততকাল রবে কীর্তি তোমার শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান)
