It
has been assured that Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will lead the Bangladesh ODI team
against West Indies in the upcoming three-match ODI series. The 34-year-old fast
bowler, who has been performing the role of captaincy in ODI format, has
finally agreed to go to the West Indies to join the Bangladesh ODI squad. His
participation has been confirmed by one of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)
officials.
Mashrafe
Bin Mortaza was reluctant to join the ODI team because of his ailing wife. However,
his wife’s improvement in physical condition prompted him in changing the
decision. He will soon leave for the West Indies.

squad will work like a magic. He believes that Mashrafe’s presence in the team will
increase the strength of the team. It is expected that his great leadership
skills will have a big impact on the morale of the team, which in turn will
help transform the mindset of team. It is time to see if he can lead his team
to a first victory in this away series.
The
three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and West Indies will start from July
22, which will be followed by a three-match T20I series. However, before the
start of the ODI series, they will play one off warm-up match against UWI Vice
Chancellor's XI.
