Mominul
Haque is now in buoyant form. In the recently concluded opening Test of the
two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, he has set many records with his bat. He
has become the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score a century in both innings
of a Test match.
He
scored 176 runs in the first innings and 105 runs in the second innings. These
back-to-back centuries have helped him break the record for the most runs scored
by a Bangladeshi batsman in a Test match. Earlier this record was hold by Tamim
Iqbal who scored 231 runs against Pakistan in 2015.
The
26-year-old diminutive has also become the fastest Bangladeshi cricketer to
reach 2000 runs in Test cricket. Let’s see if he can play well in the second
Test starting from February 8.
