Afghanistan confirms T20 series win over Bangladesh


Winning the second T20 match by 6 wickets, Afghanistan sealed the T20 series 2-0 with one match left at hand. This match was played at the same venue- Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, India. 

Bangladesh skipper, Shakib Al Hasan, won the toss for the second time in this series. However, this time, he opted to bat first, but still his side could only score a meager 134 losing 8 wickets. Left-arm opener Tamim Iqbal scored 43 off 48 balls. He along with Mushfiqur Rahim made a 45-run partnership for the third wicket stand. Mushfiqur Rahim was stumped by Mohammad Shahzad while on 22. Tailender Abu Hider played an aggressive innings of 14-ball 21, hitting one four and two sixes.
It looks like Bangladeshi batsmen could not yet reveal the mystery of Rashid Khan. The 19-year-old leg-spinner took 4 wickets for 12. For his excellent bowling performance, he was awarded the “Player of the Match” title. Mohammad Nabi took two wickets while Shapoor Zadran and Karim Janat took one wicket each.
In reply, the Afghans reached the target with 7 balls to spare. Losing four wickets, they scored 135 runs in 18.5 overs. Samiullah Shenwari scored 49 runs off 41 balls, including three sixes and two fours. With the bat, Mohammad Nabi played an aggressive innings of 15-ball 31, striking three 4s and two 6s.
Mosaddek Hossain impressed with the ball as he took 2 for 21 in three overs. Rubel Hossain and Abu Hider claimed one wicket apiece.
